Main duties of the job

 As the post holder you  will work with the  Services Manager, the Locality Clinical Lead, and the Locality Safeguarding Lead to provide operational management and leadership to the locality Health Child Programme 0-19 teams. Ensuring the delivery of a high quality, efficient and effective service, meeting all objectives, outcomes and key performance indicators.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Foster morale and motivation through effective personal leadership, ensuring views and decisions are communicated across the management and service structure.

Implement effective communication strategies to promote staff involvement 

In conjunction with the 0-19 Services Manager, Quality and Service Improvement Lead,  clinical colleagues and other stakeholders implement new ways of working at a team level, taking appropriate advice from corporate colleagues. This might include skill-mix reviews and other staffing strategies.

Provide all staff with appropriate leadership, support and training to undertake their jobs satisfactorily.

 Undertake agreed countrywide leadership and support, develop and implement any specific projects for example, new service developments, productivity improvement work

Ensure that all staff within the team are supported to use information systems for data collection, that deadlines are met for submitting data and that data is analysed to help allocate work and maximise productivity

Carry out all duties to the highest possible standard. To engage in regular supervision I line with trust policy.  

Maintain own and support staff to maintain safeguarding competencies, in line with Trust Policy and Local Safeguarding Policies.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Management degree or SCPHN
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Post graduate level business/management qualification at diploma level or able to demonstrate equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of post-qualification development

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Leadership, coaching and management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex information to diverse groups
  • Ability to analyse and assimilate information in order to make decisions
  • Well-developed report writing skills
  • Standard keyboard skills and ability to communicate through IT using packages such as Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in undertaking research and development

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience of managing a team to include team performance, quality, recruitment and staffing issues
  • Change management and demonstrating successful change outcomes
  • Influencing, persuading and negotiating with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of working with a wide range of partners and stakeholders
Desirable criteria
  • Supporting and advising complex areas of service provision, for example safeguarding
