Job overview
We are seeking an organised, proactive and customer‑focused Systems Access Administrator to join our busy Operational Support Team. This role is essential in ensuring staff across the Trust receive timely and accurate access to NHSmail, EPIC, Smartcards and other centrally managed systems.
You will create new accounts, make access changes, and carry out Registration Authority tasks, working closely with colleagues across Digital, Workforce, departmental managers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth account administration and onboarding for users.
Exceptional attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to maintain accurate, auditable records in line with Information Governance standards. You will also contribute to regular audits and respond to system access‑related enquiries.
This role would suit an experienced administrator who is keen to develop their digital skills, enjoys process‑driven work, and takes pride in supporting frontline teams to deliver excellent patient care.
The role is based on site at our campus in Cambridge.
Main duties of the job
- To administer user access to NHS Mail, Epic, and other centrally managed systems, creating, amending, and removing access in line with approved security matrices and Information Governance procedures.
- To undertake Registration Authority (RA) and smartcard administration, ensuring access is issued, amended, and withdrawn in accordance with national RA policy and local procedures.
- To manage and progress access requests and queries received via email, the IT Service Desk, and telephone, ensuring timely responses and keeping users informed.
- To monitor and chase outstanding actions to ensure deadlines are met and records remain accurate and compliant.
- To contribute to a safe, professional working environment and identify opportunities to improve ways of working.
