Staff Bank Services successfully provides temporary staffing throughout Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking to register reliable, hardworking individuals who would thrive in a busy Paediatric Intensive Care unit, working as a Band 5 Nurse caring for children from 0 – 16 years of age with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions/illnesses who require high dependency or intensive care.
You will care for children and their families as part of a large multidisciplinary team. The PICU accepts admissions from the wards and ED at CUH as well as from across all of the District General Hospitals in the Eastern region via the PaNDR retrieval service. We are also the regional trauma centre.
Previous experience of Intensive care or high dependency nursing is essential. You will be well supported clinically by the PICU Senior Team when on shift.

Main duties of the job
The workers will be responsible for competently providing safe and effective care, without supervision, to critically ill children requiring high dependency nursing intervention (Level 1 Dependency) and care to the Level 2 and 3 Dependency patients under the supervision of a registered nurse who is qualified in specialty. Assess care needs, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care. To participate in the supervision and teaching of unqualified and qualified staff, including basic and/or post basic students.
