Job overview

Do you have a passion for leveraging technology to transform healthcare? Cambridge University Hospitals is seeking a Senior Epic Application Analyst to join our innovative team responsible for optimising the patient portal MyChart within our state-of-the-art electronic patient record system.

We welcome candidates who have strong analytical skills, enjoy problem solving and collaborating with multiple teams in a large and complex organisation. Your technical expertise and passion for improving healthcare through technology will make you a strong fit for our collaborative team. You will already hold an Epic certification, ideally for MyChart, although analyst experience in any Epic module will be considered for this post.

If you're up for the challenge, apply today! We look forward to welcoming you aboard as we continue our journey as a leader in digital healthcare.

Main duties of the job

You will lead a team responsible for the configuration, development and optimisation of the Trust’s Epic Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system - Epic and its patient portal, MyChart. You will ensure that the system effectively supports patients as well as both clinical and administrative functions, aligned with NHS best practice standards and operational needs.

The role involves managing staff, overseeing system design integrity, and leading key areas such as recruitment, training, appraisals and day-to-day management.

You will provide expert technical guidance on the Epic system’s capabilities, working closely with Trust staff to enhance system efficiency, patient flow and experience. You will conduct workflow analysis, manage complex system configurations, and troubleshoot issues, ensuring successful integration with other departments and providing ongoing support for testing, upgrades and issue resolution.

In collaboration with clinical and operational teams, the role involves developing training strategies to maximise the benefits of Epic. You will take ownership of Epic module design integrity, working with the Design Authority, supervising analysts and optimising workflows with clinical and administrative staff.

Additionally, you will ensure system updates are documented and training materials are in line with new developments.
