The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the development and expansion of our nationally and internationally recognised thyroid service and also to contribute to other areas of endocrine practice spanning outpatient and inpatient activities. The appointee will be expected to contribute to in-patient duties, which includes some general medical patients, but not to the general medical on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of endocrine disorders and will be involved in teaching and training of junior staff, medical students and other healthcare professionals.
Working on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus also offers unrivalled opportunity to collaborate with Cambridge University and other local research institutes and pharmaceutical companies, as the campus continues its rapid expansion and consolidates its position as one of Europe’s leading centres of biomedical research.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Diabetes and Endocrinology with G(I)M or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
Applications from job seekers who require skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
It is a requirement for skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, to present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
