Job overview
We are advertising this new exciting position, looking to recruit an enthusiastic qualified Pharmacy Technician to provide excellent communication and documentation between Central Pharmacy Stores and our Main Inpatient Dispensary here at Addenbrookes Hospital.
We are looking for a team member who can provide excellent Education and Training for substantive staff within Central Pharmacy and staff rotating through Central Pharmacy.
You will be responsible for delivering training and maintaining training documentation and audit trail of documentation for all aspects of Central Pharmacy. You will be involved with coordinating daily operational tasks as well as carrying out ward tops ups, picking and distribution of medicines.
We are looking for a motivated team member who can demonstrate GDP and lead by example within Pharmacy. Recycling and waste management will be undertaken and facilitated within this role.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible and the key link between Central Pharmacy and Inpatient Pharmacy to facilitate stock requests and provide a strong customer service connection in order to provide and contribute to a prompt and safe distribution of medicines.
You will reside in Central Pharmacy and will be responsible for reviewing and managing workflow of Distribution and Stores facilitating processes to ensure efficient and safe supply of medicines as per standard operating procedures.
You will be responsible for Education and Training and will ensure that all training records are up to date.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with General Pharmaceutical Council • Minimum qualification NVQ3 Pharmacy Services, BTEC Pharmaceutical Science or CGLI/Apothecaries Hall pre 1985 certificates or equivalent. • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Evidence of good general level of education required i.e.: • Literate and numerate to the degree required for job description tasks (usually reading, writing, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and simple calculations).
- Ability to carry out instructions and recall.
- Computer literate, ITQ level 2 or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
- Membership of Association of Pharmacy Technicians (APTUK)
- Train the Trainer – Candidate will be willing to undertake this course to support Job Role.
- Certificate in Medicines Management for Pharmacy Technicians (CMMPT).
- Substantial hospital pharmacy experience
Experience

- Work experience of NHS hospital pharmacy stores/ materials management.
