The Virtual Pharmacy Homecare Service have an exciting opportunity to welcome a Pharmacy Assistant into our team.
The UK Homecare Pharmacy sector is growing rapidly and our Pharmacy Homecare Team currently manage the supply of medicines directly to the homes of over 10,000 patients.
We are looking for a forward thinking, organised and motivated person to join our dynamic Pharmacy Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with us to meet the needs of our large, varied and highly specialised patient cohort and various clinical teams ranging from Rheumatology to Respiratory to Neurology.
You will play a key role in the provision of specialist services helping us to deliver and improve the quality of patient care.
This team facilitates maintaining the safe supply of medicines to patients homes, allowing them to stay at home and reducing visits to the hospital.
Main duties of the job
This varied role also includes carrying out general duties associated with Pharmacy Homecare Services:
- Reception duties (via email and telephone)
- Invoice receiving to patient record
- Invoice reconciliation
- Raising purchase orders
- Updating databases

Therefore those that are new to the NHS may not reach the minimum salary threshold required to obtain a certificate of sponsorship.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Literate and numerate
- Basic computer literacy
- NVQ2 Pharmaceutical Services
Desirable criteria
- Equivalent homecare centered training. Where required training will be provided, and completion required in the first 12 months of employment.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of prioritising, planning and organising own tasks
- Experience of customer service or dealing with the public
- Data entry
- Experience of IT packages - Microsoft Office, Excel and access Data entry
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working in the NHS
- Experience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
- Understanding of customer service
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of the Trust including awareness of the Trust's priorities
