We have an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our busy Pharmacy Sterile Production Unit. Do you have some experience of working in a sterile production unit either within the NHS or Commercial Sector and wish to broaden your experience, skills and knowledge then we have may have just the job for you!
We are looking for a Senior Assistant Technical Officer to join our team of Pharmacy Technicians, Assistant Technical Officers and Pharmacists to provide essential services for our patients to ensure they have the best treatment and outcome during their stay.
Main duties of the job
- Undertake all aspects of sterile production, including making the products, assembly of raw materials and sterile components.
- Generate appropriate documentation including worksheets and labels.
- Maintain appropriate environmental monitoring records.
- Supervision and In-Process checking of products in the Clean Room.
- Assist Technical Staff with day to day organisation of workload.
- Assisting with specialist cleaning of the Clean Room facilities and equipment.
- Assist with stock management and ordering of materials and other administrative tasks.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Evidence of Higher Education in Science based subject
- Literate and numerate to degree required for post.
- Clear written English.
Desirable criteria
- Obtained/working towards NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
- East and South East England 2 Day Aseptic Dispensing Course.
- Diploma or Degree in Pharmaceutical Science
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of all aspects of Aseptic Processing is essential for this role.
- Must be able to perform calculations and transcribe information onto worksheets.
- Understanding of a wide range of SOP’s or work practices.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a Hospital Aseptic Unit or similar environment.
- Evidence of supervisory skills.
- In-Process Checking Accreditation or working towards.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Basic computer literacy (word, excel).
- Must display a full understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practise) or equivalent.
- Must have an understanding of Quality Management Systems
- Maintaining clean and hygienic work environments.
Desirable criteria
- Contamination Control Systems
- Pharmaceutical Science
