Paediatric Outpatient Team Leader

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Outpatient Team Leader in Children's Services to assist and work closely with the Clinic Coordinator, Clinical Team and the Administration Team. 

You will support the professional administration of the CUH Paediatric Services to all its users including patients, relatives and colleagues. You will be managing the Reception Team in Clinic and validate the Outpatient waiting list and ensure patients are booked for their Clinic appointment in a timely-manner. 

You will support the Clinic Coordinator on a daily basis and ensure the smooth running of Clinic 6, Weston Centre and Child Development Centre.

You will be required to work flexibly and to organise their workload and cope with conflicting demands on their time but prioritise their work accordingly. The nature of the role requires excellent communication and organisation skills and a high level of computer literacy.

Main duties of the job

To work closely with the Clinic Coordinator to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of services across the Division.

To supervise the booking and Reception staff, ensuring quality work performance is achieved at all times.

To introduce new and improved processes to ensure efficiency at all times.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to A level or NVQ level 3 Customer Service/ Business Admin /ITQ or equivalent
  • Evidence of ongoing career / professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Team Leader / management qualification
  • EPIC and eReferral training qualification

Experience

  • Experience of working in a busy clerical / office environment or reception service
  • Prioritising, planning and organising own tasks

  • Experience of IT packages – Microsoft office
  • Experience of producing documents to a high standard
