Job overview

Applications are invited for the post of a Clinical Fellow (Higher) in Medicine for the Elderly at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This post is available from 03 September 2025 until 01 September 2026.

This is a part time post for 24 hours per week. 

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the department as we develop services within the surrounding community. Applicants will also be expected to provide StR Level (ST3+) medical cover as part of the acute frailty team (Acute Frailty Assessment Unit, the RADAR admission avoidance clinic and ‘silver’ telephone advice phone). 

There will be an opportunity to gain excellent experience in the management of frail older patients to develop your PDP. A vital part of the post will involve data collection and investigating the efficacy of community outreach projects on admission avoidance and hospital length of stay.

This post is available to applicants who have Specialist Registrar experience and qualifications in geriatric medicine and in working within community networks.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
