Job overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hard-working and conscientious Psychology graduate to join a highly regarded neuropsychology service within this centre of excellence for Neurosciences!

Main duties of the job

The post will focus on supporting Neuropsychological input to our key services, including the Major Trauma Centre, Stroke Wards, Cambridge Memory Clinic and outpatient clinics. 

You will assist qualified staff with assessment, formulation and intervention for inpatients and outpatients with neurological disorders.  T

  • or you will have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment
  • or the Trust has agreed that they will Sponsor you as a Skilled Worker and you will complete your studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date of employment

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 2:1 or higher degree in Psychology
  • Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the BPS
Desirable criteria
  • Post-graduate study in a relevant field

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of a clinical health setting
  • Experience of psychological assessment and intervention
  • Experience of managing difficult and distressing situations
  • Experience of undertaking research
  • Experience of working in a team environment
  • Experience of furthered CPD
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant paid or voluntary work in clinical health psychology or neuropsychology psychology settings
  • Experience of neuropsychological or psychological assessments
  • Experience of working with memory disorders
  • Experience of neurorehabilitation

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of psychological models and theory relevant to the clinical population
  • Knowledge of clinical psychology procedures
  • Knowledge and skills relating to the promotion of shared understanding of psychological services and interdisciplinary team working
  • Current working knowledge of IT systems and databases

  • Knowledge of clinical and cognitive neuropsychological models of assessment and intervention
