Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Obstetrics (10PA's) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post is substantive available from 5th July 2026.

Main duties of the job

The post is designed to provide high-quality clinical care to patients attending our obstetric department. This job is intended to improve the pathway for patients presenting to our service particularly to the maternity triage areas and being admitted to the postnatal ward.

The post is associated with out of hours work providing cover on call overnight as well as at weekends. Currently this is as part of a 17 person rota. 

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
