Job overview
Applications are invited for the post of Specialty Registrar (ST5-8) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Subspecialty Trainee in Urogynaecology), commencing on 04 January 2027 until 03 January 2029.
This placement is suitable for Specialist Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology progressing to CCT and sub-specialty accreditation.
Main duties of the job
Candidates should have completed at least 4 years in a Specialist Training Programme in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and be ready to progress to ST5 as evidenced by an Outcome 1 in their most recent ARCP and have obtained the MRCOG by end of ST5 examination or equivalent.
The programme is for two years but it is anticipated that the training time will be extended to account for on-call commitments in line with RCOG recommendations.
The Postgraduate Dean confirms that this post has the required educational and dean’s approval. All candidates will be required to demonstrate a working knowledge of the English language.
Candidates should hold a current NTN. Candidates who already hold a UK CCT and who benefit from European Community rights or have indefinite residence or settled status in the UK may be able to be awarded an FTN if appointed.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
