Job overview
We are looking for someone who has experience or a keen interest in Pelvic health physiotherapy. You may have some experience already and be keen to join our supportive team to progress your skills. Alternatively, you may be looking to develop into a pelvic health physiotherapist with a structured band 5 transitional 6 training programme.
The post will allow you to gain experience with pelvic floor dysfunctions (urogynaecology and colorectal) and musculoskeletal conditions linked to pregnancy and postnatally. There will be opportunity to teach education classes. We also provide assessment and treatment on our maternity and gynaecology wards, therefore you will have an opportunity to experience inpatient and outpatient settings.
The post will include weekend and bank holiday cover for our maternity and gynaecology wards.
We are a small friendly team who are supportive in developing our team and are keen to upskill staff for both job satisfaction and service development.

Main duties of the job
To perform advanced specialist physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme. Conditions may include:
· Antenatal and postnatal management of pregnancy related musculoskeletal conditions
· Incontinence issues both bladder and bowel
· Prolapse symptoms
· Pelvic pain such as vulvodynia or dyspareunia
To hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working unsupervised.
To be able to work independently and provide a pelvic health physiotherapy service on the Maternity and Gynaecology Wards.
To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous Practitioner.
To supervise, educate and assess the performance of physiotherapy students, this would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification.
To undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice. Make recommendations to clinical lead for changes to practice by the team. May lead implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- HCPC registered
- Degree in Physiotherapy (or Diploma equivalent)
- Evidence of relevant CPD
- Evidence of relevant pelvic health post- graduate courses
Desirable criteria
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
- Membership of relevant special interest groups
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience gained through junior / senior rotational post including musculoskeletal, surgical and respiratory
- Have experience of treating antenatal and postnatal musculoskeletal conditions in an Outpatient setting
- Have some experience of treating bladder dysfunctions such as SUI and urgency
- Experience of working as part of a Physiotherapy Team and/or MDT
- Contributing to clinical education of less experienced staff or students or assistants
- Competency to participate weekend Rosie list
Desirable criteria
- Student supervisor or willing to be trained
- Experience of teaching in an exercise class setting
- Have some experience of treating bowel dysfunctions
- Have some experience of treating simple pelvic pain disorders such as dyspareunia
- Experience of using electronic patient notes
