Job overview
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3 -5/ST6+) in Radiology (Cross Sectional) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) to commence from 01 September 2025 until 04 August 2026.
Main duties of the job
The duties of this post include;
Sub-specialist interest sessions (80%): The successful candidate will have the opportunity to obtain training in a sub-specialist interest with a preference for any of the following sub-speciality radiology: Breast, Chest/Cardiac, Gastrointestinal, Gynaecological & Uroradiology or Oncological. These have the opportunity to learn relevant interventional oncology skills (biopsies and drains).
General radiology sessions (20%): Reporting chest and body CT, hot seat plain film reporting, general US, presentation at clinico-radiological meetings.
Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition.
Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of commencement (in September 2025) is required.

Completion of competencies as required of ST1-2 Radiology training is essential.
The post holder will also be expected to participate in the Radiology Registrar on-call rota, currently a full shift pattern, albeit with Consultant supervision.
This timetable will be flexible and chosen by the candidate to include sub-specialist reporting sessions as well and multidisciplinary team meetings

- MBBS or equivalent
- Full FRCR
- General Medical Council at commencement
- To be eligible for appointment at the Senior level within this role you are required to have completed Specialty Registrar or equivalent training to ST6 level passing the associated competencies
- Logbook indicating validated experience of appropriate range and number of clinical procedures
- Completion of competencies as required of ST1-2 Radiology training
Desirable criteria
- Presentations/Publications
- Completion of Specialty Registrar training in the UK or equivalent with CCT in Radiology
- Postgraduate qualification such as MRCP, FRCS/MRCS, PhD etc
