Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Department of Ophthalmology provides a busy service for our local population in addition to receiving referrals from across the region for sub-specialty services. The department places a strong emphasis on sub-specialisation, providing every sub-specialty except ocular oncology.
This is a replacement post to support the glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmology service in the department.
This post would be suitable for an Ophthalmologist who did not wish to provide surgery. This post would also suit applicants wishing to gain experience towards an application for the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
The timetable can be adapted depending on an applicant’s expertise and/or interest, or, to provide CESR ‘training sessions’ in appropriate sub-specialty services on a rotational basis in accordance with the service needs of the department.
