Job overview
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Core in Transplant at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is available from as soon as possible until 04 August 2026.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be exposed to patients with acute and chronic liver failure, end stage renal disease (and the complications of such), as well as managing patients in the post-transplant setting as part of the combined Medical and Surgical team.
Please note that this post does not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition.
Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
This post may be suitable for those wishing to undertake an “F3” role. In order to be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria as described in the Person Specification section of the Job Description.

Essential criteria
- MBBS or equivalent qualification
- Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the GMC at point of application
- Completion of Foundation Competencies
- Atleast 3 months NHS experience
- Recent exposure to the acute unselected medical take
- Logbook indicating validated experience of appropriate range and number of clinical procedures
- Knowledge of emergency and general medicine to provide a wide base of care for acute and chronically ill medical patients
- Ability to undertake basic medical investigations and therapeutic procedures
- Presentations/ Publications
- Ability to undertake research projects and audit
Desirable criteria
- MRCP/MRCS or equivalent
- Completion of a Core Surgical/Medical/ Acute Care in a relevant Core Programme for Specialty Training Programme or equivalent
