Employer heading
EPRR Manager
NHS AfC: Band 7
We are Central East ICB, the new organisation entrusted with serving more than 3.5 million people across Bedfordshire, Luton, Milton Keynes, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and Hertfordshire.
We are responsible for making sure that the NHS can continue to support our community – now, and in the future. Everything we do will be guided by our core purpose: to do what best serves the population of this area.
We promise to focus on what makes the biggest difference to people’s lives – acting earlier to help prevent illness and detect disease and making it easier for our community to get the health care they need, closer to home, whenever that’s possible.
If you need support with the application process, please contact our People Team at [email protected].

Job overview
Thank you for your interest in joining us at this exciting and important time. At our heart, we are here to serve the people of our communities. Health and care is, above all, a people business - built on relationships, compassion, and the shared ambition to help everyone live healthier, fuller lives. Every role in our organisation contributes to this mission. Every decision we make, every partnership we form, and every change we lead starts with one question: what will best serve our population?
Our mission is clear: to work with our population to achieve their best health through equitable care, delivering maximum value from every pound spent. We will achieve this by being a highly effective team of commissioners; inclusive, fair, responsive, and innovative; harnessing data and technology, leveraging scale, and staying closely connected to the unique needs of our neighbourhoods.
The NHS 10-Year Plan provides a strong foundation for our work. It challenges us to:
• Prevent ill-health and intervene early
• Personalise care so it works for everyone
• Tackle health inequalities and improve access for all
• Embrace digital innovation to improve quality and efficiency
• Secure long-term sustainability in the face of growing demand
These priorities will guide our strategies and decisions every day.
Main duties of the job
The EPRR Managers will support the delivery of the Integrated Care Board’s statutory duties for Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) under the Civil Contingencies Act and NHS England Core Standards. Reporting to the Band 8b EPRR Lead, the postholder will manage the development and implementation of emergency planning and business continuity arrangements across the organisation.
The EPRR Managers will coordinate risk assessments, training, and exercises to ensure readiness for major incidents and service disruptions. The role includes maintaining compliance records, preparing assurance reports, and supporting governance processes. The postholder will work closely with system partners, emergency services, and local authorities to ensure integrated planning and response. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential to deliver high-quality resilience and preparedness across the
ICB.
Working for our organisation
We are committed to promoting equal opportunities to achieve equity of access, experience and outcomes and to recognising and valuing people’s differences. We are committed to creating the best place to work, where your contribution is valued, your wellbeing is supported and all our colleagues can reach their full potential. We welcome and encourage applications from all areas of the community, who meet the criteria for the role, regardless of their protected characteristic. We work to ensure that our recruitment processes are as inclusive as possible to everyone, including making adjustments for people who have a disability or long-term condition and support with the recruitment process for people with lived experience.
We are happy to discuss flexible working options for all roles.
