As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will deliver and develop specialist OT assessments and interventions. These will include occupation focused group work, sensory strategies, reablement goals, functional assessments and focussed individualised interventions. These interventions will be based on the core principles of therapeutic use of self and our foundational approach. You will display leadership skills and the ability to supervise colleagues to ensure outstanding clinical delivery.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will fulfil the duties of the Senior Occupational Therapist as outlined below, across the inpatient services for acute adult mental health.

In partnership with the individual, the Senior Occupational Therapist maintains, restores, or creates a match between the abilities of the person, the demands of his or her activities and occupations, and the demands of the environment to improve function and access to opportunities for participation in daily life. This is to be achieved through
structured and thoughtful goal setting.
The post holder will demonstrate a high level of understanding of occupational therapy models of practice, provide the skilful use of specialist assessments, advice and interventions to support the service user to engage in a meaningful activity, designed to increase function. This will include providing specialist support, knowledge and advice to team members who have identified a service user’s vocational needs.
