Are you an experienced HR professional looking for you next challenge? We have a great opportunity for a HR Advisor to join our team! This role can be offered as a band 5 development opportunity. Alternatively, this can be offered as a band 6 role for candidates with the required skills & experience.

This is a development post, if you are appointed as a Band 5, you will be provided with a list of competencies to complete and an agreed timescale in which to complete these, up to a maximum of 12mths. Competencies will be reviewed in your supervisions and appraisals. Only on successful completion of these competencies, you will progress to a Band 6.
Main duties of the job
As a HR Advisor, you will provide a generalist Human Resources (HR) service to the Trust as part of the Operational HR Team.
You will play a key role in providing expert advice and support across the Trust on all aspects of HR including employee relations, terms and conditions and policy implementation. You will work closely with managers to ensure best practice is followed and help create a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

1. Support to HR Advisors and Business Partners to ensure that employee relations issues are managed effectively by managers to reflect the CPFT’s commitment to people as their most important asset.
2. Support to HR Advisors and Business Partners to help managers in decision making, balancing risks, and ensuring appropriate consideration is given to both effective service delivery and protecting CPFT’s reputation.
3. To advise managers on the application, interpretation and compliance with CPFT policies and procedures.
4. Interpret and advise managers on the application of terms and conditions of employment, ensuring compliance with Agenda for Change, Trust policies and employment legislation.
5. Support HR Advisors and Business Partners in areas of continuous improvement and support managers in the implementation of initiatives to improve service delivery and achieving Key Performance Indicators through utilising Workforce information.
6. Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with staff side representatives and other organisations as appropriate.
7. Support to HR Advisors and Business Partners to review supporting mechanisms in place for staff to ensure they are fair, effective and fit for purpose, advising managers as appropriate.
8. Support to HR Advisors and Business Partners to ensure management compliance with Employment Legislation.
9. Advocate compliance with Equal Opportunity and Diversity legislation. 10. Support to HR Advisors, Business Partners and managers with workforce utilisation to improve individual, team and organisational performance.

Education & Qualification
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level in a relevant field or equivalent level of experience.
- Ability and willingness to work towards CIPD.

- CIPD Qualified
