Main duties of the job

As a Phlebotomist, you will have the important responsibility of interacting with patients, explaining procedures, and providing reassurance when needed. Your primary duty will be to collect blood samples via venepuncture, ensuring that each patient is accurately identified and that samples are correctly labelled. Timely delivery of these samples to the laboratory is essential, and you will be expected to meet strict deadlines to ensure efficient processing.

In addition to the technical aspects of the role, you will also be involved in collating information regarding patient statistics, conducting audits, and participating in patient surveys. This data collection is vital for maintaining high standards of care and continuous improvement in our services.

Duty periods will be mainly between 08:00-17:00 hrs. Applicants must be able to work weekends and Bank Holidays.
