We have a fantastic opportunity at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust for an experienced pharmacist to oversee all clinical trials and lead our research and development.
We are looking for an exceptional individual to be the pharmacy lead for all clinical trials, provide pharmaceutical expertise to the Trust Research and Development Committee and be responsible for ensuring the clinical trial service provided by the pharmacy department complies with Good Clinical Practice and legislative requirements. Alongside this the successful candidate will lead the Research agenda within the Pharmacy Department.
You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to organise and prioritise your work and that of others. You will have experience / familiarity working in clinical trials and enthusiasm to deliver a first class service.
Main duties of the job
Managing the delivery of all clinical trials involving Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) which require pharmaceutical resource and ensuring compliance with national and international good clinical practice standards.
Supporting the Principal Pharmacist SACT in the delivery of corporate, divisional and departmental operational and strategic priorities and to the modernisation of pharmacy services across the Trust.
Actively report upon the clinical trial service delivery at departmental senior management meetings and deputising for the Principal Pharmacist SACT at departmental and Divisional meetings as required.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to Degree or Masters level in Pharmacy
- Registered Pharmacist (GPhC)
- Postgraduate qualification relevant to hospital pharmacy practice
Desirable criteria
- Leadership / Management qualification relevant to the NHS or equivalent management qualification or experience
- GCP competency
- Registered Pharmacy non-medical prescriber
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Advanced clinical competencies in Clinical Trials
- Recent experience in Hospital clinical pharmacy / industry sectors
- Experience in delivering clinical education and training
- Computer literate – Microsoft Office and clinical pharmacy applications.
- Knowledge of clinical audit / Drug Use Review projects
