We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic professional to join our Finance capital Team at North West Anglia NHS FT. The Finance Business Partner will act as the strategic financial lead for a number of projects providing high quality financial information, support and advice. Support the management of the overall capital programme, balancing risk and maximising opportunity while staying within the Trust’s overall capital envelope.

As an integral member of the divisional leadership team the post holder will be expected to work closely with Clinicians and Managers across the Trust and will be committed to constantly seeking ways to improve the processes that they oversee.

Main duties of the job

This post leads on detailed professional, technical and reporting financial support to the Trust’s Capital Programme and major schemes within it. This is a pivotal role in the development and delivery of the Trust’s annual and multi-year capital plans. 

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining the investment case consideration process, supporting Investment Management Group, improving capital scheme reporting, consolidating multi-year capital planning, undertaking post-project evaluation and acting as the Project Accountant on a range of major schemes, including Hinchingbrooke and Stamford Hospital redevelopments and the Digital Strategy. 

The postholder will have key working relationships with staff involved in the capital programme across the Trust, particularly leads in Estates and Facilities and Digital and scheme managers across the clinical divisions, as well as other Business Partners.

Education

Essential criteria
  • Education to degree level or equivalent
  • CCAB qualified accountant / sufficient relevant experience
  • Evidence of continuous professional and personal development
Desirable criteria
  • Management qualification to degree or post graduate level

Experience

Essential criteria
  • A proven track record of providing effective financial advice at a senior level
  • Experience at senior level within the NHS or comparable complex environment
  • Reporting at or to senior committees
  • Business case development and option appraisal of capital and revenue projects
  • Project accounting role for a major capital development
Desirable criteria
  • Successful change management, planning and implementation
