At North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our patient focused team that continues to develop its high quality Medicines Management service. We are looking for a self-motivated Pharmacy Technician with excellent organisational skills, able to work under pressure whilst ensuring attention to detail in all aspects of technical medicines management.
Medicines Management Technicians play an integral role as members of the MDT in ensuring medicines reconciliation is undertaken accurately to ensure appropriate medicines are prescribed and used safely & effectively to the benefit of our patients and assist with timely discharges by transcribing drugs onto discharge letters. This post will suit any technician wishing to join a vibrant working environment and to further improve on their current clinical knowledge and skills.
The post holder will be part of the team responsible for providing a ward based technical pharmacy service involving Medicines Reconciliation, the ‘Patient’s Own Drugs’ scheme and ‘One Stop Dispensing’. The post holder will work as part of the ward team to build on patient partnerships to ensure the effective optimisation of medicines.
The acute City Hospital benefits from a busy emergency centre, haematology/oncology department, critical/intensive care unit and an innovative cardiology ward. The hospital also offers a wide range of general services, including medical, surgical, paediatric and mental health care from various hospital sites. The Pharmacy Department provides an excellent working environment and utilises progressive systems in order to deliver its services.
