An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and enthusiastic Highly Specialist Physiotherapist to work within the Rehabilitation team in an upper limb specialist capacity at Peterborough City Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity for a physiotherapist who really wants to make a difference and enhance their knowledge and clinical skills within upper limb musculoskeletal rehabilitation whilst working alongside the upper limb consultants and rehabilitation team.
The Highly Specialist physiotherapist post is primarily based at Peterborough City Hospital although you may be asked to provide cover at any of the three main Northwest Anglia sites as required.
Interviews for this role will be conducted in person to assess relevant skills effectively.
Main duties of the job
Job summary
- To work closely with the Orthopaedic upper limb consultants in fracture clinic
- To act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have a complex upper limb presentation
- To ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery of patient focussed care in line with identified evidence-based practice, local and national standards
- To work collaboratively within Multidisciplinary and Multi-agency Teams
- To participate in delegated projects for service development with the team
- To demonstrate a flexible approach to working in support of the whole rehabilitation team
- To be available to provide Clinical Supervision
- To guide Band 5 and Band 6 team members of staff in the management, clinical reasoning support and delivery of therapeutic care plans
- This role entails 80% Clinical Contact and 20% Operational Management as appropriate within team requirements.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree / Diploma in Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registered
- Evidence of post graduate training/qualification / level 7 learning relevant to clinical area – musculoskeletal therapy
Desirable criteria
- CSP member
- Member of Musculoskeletal special interest group
Experience
Essential criteria
- NHS experience working at senior level
- Clinical experience within musculoskeletal and orthopaedics
- Experience of Multi-Disciplinary working
- Demonstrate active involvement in the audit process
- Experience of change management
- Experience of supervising and mentoring junior members of staff and pre-registration students
- Experience of developing staff and sharing knowledge
Desirable criteria
- Ability to demonstrate working with regional/national networks
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Demonstrate sound level of theoretical profession specific knowledge
- Evidence of current practices and developments within the field Musculoskeletal and orthopaedics
- Sound knowledge of interventions relevant to clinical area
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of clinical governance including implications on service and audit
