Job overview
Are you passionate about patient care and eager to make a meaningful impact? We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Therapeutic Radiographer to join our dynamic Pre-treatment and Treatment Delivery team.
As a Therapeutic Radiographer, you will play a crucial role in providing a highly specialist clinical and technical service. You will be involved in the comprehensive care of patients undergoing Radiotherapy treatment, ensuring that each patient receives optimal treatment delivery.
Main duties of the job
- Patient Treatment Evaluation: Critically evaluate all aspects of patient treatment to ensure optimal delivery, working closely with senior team leaders.
- Patient Support and Information: Provide essential support and information to cancer patients and their carers, maintaining a high level of patient care. Communicate complex and delicate information with the utmost tact and sensitivity.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with oncologists, physicists, radiographers, technicians, clerical staff, and other professionals to ensure seamless and effective patient care.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • Degree or DCR(T) in radiotherapy
- • Has HCPC registration ( or has applied for registration)
Experience
Essential criteria
- • Has knowledge of working within IR(ME)R legislation
- • Has understanding of radiotherapy
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- • Working knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act
Desirable criteria
- • Recent knowledge of a scheduling/booking system
- • Knowledge of cancer patient treatment pathway, and national targets
Key Skills
Essential criteria
- • Proven good organisational skills
- • Good IT skills: Microsoft word, excel, access, PowerPoint
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- • The ability to provide excellent efficient customer service under significant work pressures and remain calm at all times
- • Ability to manage and prioritise own time and workload
- • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- • Well-developed interpersonal skills – ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of people including medical staff and patients
- • Ability to deal with difficult and distressed patients/carers in a calm manner

- • Awareness of a range of clinic and radiotherapy specific treatment terminology
- • Willing to take on new tasks and learn new skills
