Applications are invited for Clinical Fellow posts in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with an expected start date of 1st October 2025. This is a fixed term post for 1 year. The post is based in University Hospital of Wales (UHW) and University Hospital Llandough (UHL) sites. This post offers an excellent opportunity for gaining a broad experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in a busy teaching hospital. The posts are full time and we are supportive of less than fulltime working if required

The post holder will participate in 1:10 on call rota (2nd on call, EWTD compliant).

Due to staffing issues, we can only accommodate hospital visits for those successful in interview

Main duties of the job

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • MBBS or equivalent
  • • MRCOG Part 2, or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • MRCOG
  • Intercalated Degree
  • MSc or PHD
  • Academic Excellence (Prizes, merits, distinctions )

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • 2 years of Clinical Experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Evidence of participation Clinical Governance
  • 1 Year UK Experience of working as a doctor
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of participation in clinical governance and audit
  • Evidence of participation in research

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE , ABILITIES

Essential criteria
  • • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication Up to date with current medical practices
  • Evidence of ability to work at registrar/middle grade level
Desirable criteria
  • Qualification in Ultrasound
  • Postgraduate qualification in Teaching
