Applications are invited for Clinical Fellow posts in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with an expected start date of 1st October 2025. This is a fixed term post for 1 year. The post is based in University Hospital of Wales (UHW) and University Hospital Llandough (UHL) sites. This post offers an excellent opportunity for gaining a broad experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in a busy teaching hospital. The posts are full time and we are supportive of less than fulltime working if required
The post holder will participate in 1:10 on call rota (2nd on call, EWTD compliant).
Due to staffing issues, we can only accommodate hospital visits for those successful in interview

Main duties of the job

This post offers an excellent opportunity for gaining a broad experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in a busy teaching hospital. The post holder will participate in 1:10 on call rota (1st on call, EWTD compliant). They have an opportunity to participate in weekly teaching programme, audit and research activities within the department in addition to providing clinical care.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • MBBS or equivalent
- • MRCOG Part 2, or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- MRCOG
- Intercalated Degree
- MSc or PHD
- Academic Excellence (Prizes, merits, distinctions )
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- 2 years of Clinical Experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Evidence of participation Clinical Governance
- 1 Year UK Experience of working as a doctor
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of participation in clinical governance and audit
- Evidence of participation in research
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE , ABILITIES
Essential criteria
- • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication Up to date with current medical practices
- Evidence of ability to work at registrar/middle grade level
Desirable criteria
- Qualification in Ultrasound
- Postgraduate qualification in Teaching
ATTITUDE, APTITUDES, PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

- Motivated and efficient

- Current GMC certificate with a licence to practise
