Communications Officer
Band 5
Digital Health and Care Wales is an ambitious organisation created by Welsh Government to lead on the digital transformation of health and care. It builds on the digital architecture and national services put in place by the NHS Wales Informatics Service over the past decade.
The organisation will lead on large-scale developments that make a significant difference to the people of Wales as well as to health and care professionals, such as expansion of the digital patient record and the creation of a National Data Resource. It will improve the way data is collected, shared and used. Please check your email account regularly. Job overview
As Communications Officer you will work with the Communications Team to raise the profile of DHCW and contribute to the successful delivery of the communications strategy and communications plan. The post holder will be required to support both internal and external communications activities.

As Communications Officer you will:

Monitor and manage the team's inbox and respond in a timely manner.

Be adept at writing clear, engaging and creative copy for all our channels with support from the team and make independent choices on the best communication channels to issue comms.

Influence and persuade committees and staff on appropriate communication approaches.

Prioritise work according to business objectives and the current narrative.

Take a proactive approach to staying ahead of digital trends and technologies.

Manage, maintain and keep the stakeholder list up to date.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to Degree Level or appropriate professional qualification or equivalent experience
- Evidence of further development / education / training
Desirable criteria
- Recognised / relevant professional qualification (Journalistic/PR)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Ability to speak Welsh at level 3 or above
- Evidence of relevant experience in a creative writing environment
- Experience of working in a PR/Communications environment
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working on health-related campaigns
Skills and Attributes
Essential criteria
- Digital skills in video, photography, Canva, Adobe, and Mura
- Demonstrate innovative and creative thinking.
Desirable criteria
- Excellent planning, prioritising and organising skills
