Job overview

Are you an experienced administrator with a passion for leading teams and delivering high-quality support services? 

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Business Support Team Leader to join our centralised Business Support Team within the HEIW Pharmacy Deanery.

In this pivotal role, you’ll coordinate and delegate tasks across the team to ensure the smooth delivery of a wide range of administrative functions that support our national pharmacy education programmes.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in administrative roles, including event coordination and digital systems support.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience supervising or managing a team.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office tools and managing data accurately.
  • A flexible, self-motivated approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.

This post is fixed term/secondment for  18 months due to - meet the needs of the service

 

Although this post has been advertised as a fixed term appointment, NHS staff will be offered the appointment as a secondment. If you wish to apply as a secondment opportunity, you must have your line manager’s approval. This post may be extended or made permanent at the end of the fixed term/secondment period depending on available funding and business needs

Main duties of the job

  • Planning, organisation, and delivery of both virtual and face-to-face training events.
  • Overseeing the setup and maintenance of e-learning packages and user guidance materials.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to users of our e-learning platform.
  • Acting as the first point of escalation for complex queries and ensuring a customer-focused approach.
  • Supporting the operational delivery of CPD programmes, National Enhanced Services training, and other post-registration offerings.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of educational resources.
  • Monitoring team performance, identifying process improvements, and supporting the development of team members.

Essential criteria
  • Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Experience of a full range of duties working in an administrative / office environment
  • Knowledge of data protection requirements

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in an office role including event management experience (includes online resources)
  • Familiar and competent with Microsoft IT packages, especially Work, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience as a Team Leader / Supervising staff
  • Experience of providing high levels of customer service and support
  • Experience of entering and maintaining accurate data systems and analysing data
  • Experience of monitoring budgets
Desirable criteria
  • Experience administering an eLearning platform and providing online system support
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
