Main duties of the job

This role acts as a key link between NWSSP Procurement Services and its customers, promoting best practices in Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes. The post holder supports the Senior Procurement Business Manager in delivering a professional procurement service aligned with the NWSSP Business Plan. They ensure the service is responsive, cost-effective, and adaptable to user needs, while driving national and local targets, efficiencies, and value-added initiatives. A core focus is on influencing procurement decisions, negotiating non-contract requisitions, and collaborating with partners to improve processes, standardise products, reduce costs, and enhance quality and service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • 5 GCSE’s grade C and above, including Maths & English or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Procure to Pay cycle acquired through NVQ/BTEC level 2/3 or equivalent qualification/expierience.
  • Qualified to CIPS (Level 4) or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria
  • 2 A-levels or equivalent.
  • Customer Service Qualification.
  • Awareness of Business planning principles.
  • Working knowledge of procedures including problem solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of best practice, benchmarking and performance measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge of P2P (Procure-to-Pay) processes or similar transactional systems.
  • Familiarity with KPIs and performance targets within a customer service or finance context.

Other

Desirable criteria
  • Ability to travel (public and/or private) off site for meetings (as appropriate) throughout Wales and other parts of the UK.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to our internal and external customers, helping us to maintain the customer service excellence standard.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven ability to establish and enhance effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Expierience of working in a customer service function e.g. handling customer queries, managing and resolving issues, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of managing staff.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Experience managing invoices on hold (IOH) and resolving supplier payment issues.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use action points and follow processes to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve customer or supplier issues effectively.
