Job overview

An opportunity has become available for enthusiastic, self motivated persons to join the Facilities Services department to delivery front line services to patients, staff and visitors.

This post is  a zero hour  bank post . If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post. 

Main duties of the job

The role of the Facilities Assistant is a combined role delivering Catering & Housekeeping Services within the Cancer Centre working in line with national cleaning standards and food safety legislation.

The successful Candidates will be expected to undertake all the main tasks in line with the Job Description working within the values and behaviours of Velindre University Trust. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety , COSHH, and HACCP food safety management systems
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ level 2 in food & drink

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous catering or Cleaning experience, especially in a care environment ward & dining room/coffee shop

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 NVQ Level 2 in cleaning. Willing to work towards the All Wales Facilities Apprenticeship Qualification.
