Job overview

We are offering an exciting opportunity for Therapeutic Radiographer to join our team in a forward thinking radiotherapy department at Velindre Cancer Service.

Velindre Cancer Service consists of two radiotherapy departments, one in Cardiff and one in Abergavenny.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Therapeutic Radiographer wishing to expand their knowledge and experience at a purpose built Cancer Centre , providing world class cancer care to the people of South East Wales to join our review team

We are offering a 5 month fixed term (secondment will be considered  where approved by employer) post, to commence 15th September 2025 and conclude 14th February 2026

Interviews will be undertaken face to face  only 

This post is fixed term/secondment for 5 months to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

·         To participate in the radiographer led review clinics, including assessing treatment side effects and advising patients and carers on how to manage these side effects.

·         To be a member of the information and support service providing a holistic approach to the emotional, practical, social and information needs of radiotherapy patients.

·         The post holder will work closely with more senior review clinic staff to provide a safe, accurate, efficient and caring treatment service.

·         To assist in the organisation of the workload in the review clinic and to take responsibility for the training and supervision of more junior team members and students.

·         To be part of the multidisciplinary team involved in the total care of patients undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment.

·         Work towards being a resource within the Trust providing expert knowledge to support the multidisciplinary teams.

As a member of the on-treatment review Radiotherapy team, the post holder will participate in the radiographer led review clinics, assessing radiotherapy side effects and advising patients and carers on how to manage these side effects
