We are seeking an experienced governance professional to provide strategic leadership across clinical governance, risk management, compliance, and assurance frameworks. You will work closely with executive teams and senior clinicians to strengthen governance systems, support regulatory requirements, and drive continuous improvement across services.
As Head of Governance, you will have significant senior-level governance experience within healthcare and proven leadership and strategic influencing skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and forward-thinking leader ready to make a measurable impact on quality, safety, and organisational performance.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 6 months to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job
The role will require the post holder to lead and develop organisation wide corporate governance practices, encompassing a wide range of governance, secretariat and administrative functions. Acting as an expert adviser to the Board, the post holder will ensure that the Trust’s corporate affairs are conducted to the highest standards of probity and in full accordance with statutory, legislative and regulatory requirements.
The post holder will also hold key corporate governance responsibilities in relation to the Trust's Publication Scheme, its Risk Management Framework, Trust Policies, Audit and the Board Secretariat function.
Key duties include:
Providing expert advice and guidance on the management and effectiveness of the Trust Board and its Committees.
Providing professional and specialist advice to the Trust Board, Management Teams and staff on governance arrangements, Standing Orders, Standing Financial Instructions and the Trust Assurance Framework.
Overseeing Board and Committee secretariat services to ensure they are delivered in accordance with the highest standards of governance and administrative practice.
