Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP) based at either the NWSSP Denbigh Stores or NWSSP Glan Clwyd Hospital Laundry (Bodelwyddan) depending on the needs of the service.
As a Supply Chain Operative/HGV Driver you will be responsible for stock items in the stores centres and also for the safe and secure transport, distribution and replenishment of NHS Laundry (Glan Clwyd Hospital), Stock items such as medical consumables (e.g. needles/syringes/containers from Denbigh Stores), Pharmacy, Pathology, Blood/Blood Products, Secure and Non-Secure Stationery and Mail/Records that are distributed to secondary and primary health care sites (Hospitals, GP practices, pharmacies, opticians, dental surgeries) across NHS Wales.
You will be required to cover to various shift rotas based on the needs of the business:
Monday to Friday: 06:00 – 14:00 or 08:00 – 16:00
You will also be required to provide relief to cover weekends and bank holidays
Saturday (Relief Cover): 06:00 – 14:00 (may vary depending on the service needs)
Sunday (Relief Cover): 06:00 – 14:00 (may vary depending on the service needs)
Bank Holiday (Relief Cover): 06:00 – 14:00 (may vary depending on the service needs)
THIS ROLE REQUIRES HGV CAT C LICENSE AND CPC*
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar environment. The main duties of the job will be to carry out driving duties which are allocated in line with business and customer requirements as well as ensuring the vehicles are loaded methodically and in line with legal requirements. The postholder will also ensure accurate selection of items whilst picking goods in the Warehouse and maintaining a high standard of packing goods.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
