Information Governance Support Officer

Digital Health and Care Wales is an ambitious organisation created by Welsh Government to lead on the digital transformation of health and care. It builds on the digital architecture and national services put in place by the NHS Wales Informatics Service over the past decade.
The organisation will lead on large-scale developments that make a significant difference to the people of Wales as well as to health and care professionals, such as expansion of the digital patient record and the creation of a National Data Resource. Job overview
We are recruiting for 2 Information Governance Support Officers to: -

Support the delivery of a variety of Information Governance requirements within DHCW.

To work as a member of the Information Governance team providing organisational support to the duties and functions of all aspect of information governance delivery, managing designated elements e.g. supporting, facilitating and monitoring progress of workstreams and risks.

Focus of the role will be on the National Intelligent Integrated Audit Solution (NIIAS). This will involve supporting the NIIAS Manager and team in maintenance growth and application of the NIIAS solution. Tasks will include following up on audit notifications to key clinical user groups.

To support the Information Governance responsibilities of DHCW and to coordinate and liaise with stakeholder organisations that rely upon robust and accurate Information Governance (IG) advice and guidance. This requirement will span across the whole of NHS Wales, including several projects and programmes, and the future organisational strategy of DHCW and the Code of Conduct service.

Main duties of the job
To support the Information Governance team by the following: -
· To set up and maintain team files.
· To administer team, regional and external meetings.
· To work with the team manager in the production of the required products within the agreed brief.

Focus of the role will be on the National Intelligent Integrated Audit Solution (NIIAS). This will involve supporting the NIIAS Manager and team in maintenance growth and application of the NIIAS solution. Tasks will include following up on audit notifications to key clinical user groups.
· Carry out Gap analysis and risks assessment activities, like Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
· Responsible for the preparation and completion of routine and ad-hoc reports required by the Information Governance team.
· Responsible for the production of specified deliverables as defined by Information Governance team members by undertaking specific activities, (e.g., creation of spreadsheets or databases, report writing,).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To be the initial point of contact for all correspondence for the team, including all action point queries. Responding to queries independently in line with the knowledge and skills and escalating complex queries where further support is required.
· Support the development and maintenance of Information Sharing Protocols under the Wales Accord on the Sharing of Personal Information (WASPI) framework.
· Liaising with any suppliers or account managers, as required.
· Guide users and other stakeholders with solving any bespoke software application problems (e.g accessing and using the National Intelligent Integrated Audit Solution (NIIAS) or the Information Sharing Gateway platform across all sectors).
· Arranging travel when required for members of the Information Governance team.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Good level of educational attainment to A-level, diploma or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- BCS Certificate in Data Protection or equivalent qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of administering in an office environment
- Good knowledge of Computer skills, and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to master new applications
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and reporting, e.g. Power BI
