Job overview

The All Wales Medical Genomics Service are looking for an enthusiastic Business Information Officer keen to make a difference to join the Directorate Management Team.

This is a permanent, full time post currently based at Wales Genomic Health Centre

The pay progression steps for this post as a Band 5 begin at £31516 and top at approximately £38364. The expectation is that all staff will meet the required standards and will, therefore, be able to progress on their pay step date.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is a key member of the directorate management team and will provide a strong support network for the combined clinical and laboratory service, namely the All Wales Medical Genetic Service. 

They will be expected to provide and deliver business administration duties effectively and efficiently in line with operational objectives and policy. 

The post holder will support the business development team as required with the programmes of work within the directorate and may involve leading or facilitating on specific projects as required.

The successful candidate will need to work with key internal stakeholders in delivering against project objectives and engaging in the change management process. 

Additional requirements will involve supporting the directorate management team with other key service strategic and operational objectives. 

You must demonstrate the ability and experience to work with a team of multi-discipline professionals, to deliver projects of work of high quality, whilst achieving an excellent level of stakeholder satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be able to evidence experience in an environment where changing circumstances are the norm. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the drive, credibility and authority to lead will be required.

AWMGS is a major stakeholder in the Welsh Government’s plan to create a sustainable, internationally-competitive environment for genomics. The Genomics for Precision Medicine Strategy launched in 2017 is looking to develop a service that is innovative, responsive and well-connected to the major genetics and genomics initiatives that are evolving worldwide.
