The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2025/2026 and will be implemented in August 2025 with arrears backdated to 1st April 2025 where applicable.

Essential criteria

Proven ability to think and act strategically and articulate a clear sense of direction and vision
Proven influencing and negotiating skills
Evidence of significant organisational change / managing difficult and complex change
Understanding of whole system nature of local healthcare challenges
Clinical governance, quality, and safety improvement

Desirable criteria

Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria

Full and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) or be eligible for registration within six months of interview
Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
The successful candidate will be currently working at consultant level with experience related to the role
Evidence of continued professional development
Evidence of leadership development

Desirable criteria

Recent clinical experience of directly working in or influencing the adoption of advanced therapies
