Job overview

Passionate about how digital can transform healthcare, for our donors, patients and colleagues? We have an exciting Digital Services team opportunity for a RPA Developer, to work collaboratively across the Trust and wider NHS Wales, to provide transformative digital systems and insight-led services.

We are in an exciting period of change including opening a new world class cancer centre to extend and enhance specialist cancer treatment along with delivery of cancer care closer to home at regional sites. For the Welsh Blood Service, we are transforming blood and transplant services, improving current capabilities alongside developing new services including plasma for medicines.

An ambitious digital strategy underpins this, which will revolutionise the way in which we deliver services – from co-producing innovative technologies, working on digital inclusion, to embedding data & insight into our everyday.

We recognise that successful digital transformation and service is as much to do with our people and culture as it is to do with technology.  This is a truly special opportunity and we are looking for talented and passionate people who share our values and can help us realise the Trust’s ambitions.

Main duties of the job

The Digital Services team at Velindre University NHS Trust (VUNHST) leads on digital strategy, development, co-ordination, planning, project, and programme management for all digital / IT services and supporting functions.  VUNHST is establishing a core capability in Robotic Process Automation (RPA). This capability will support departments across VUNHST and by extension our stakeholders across NHS Wales.

The RPA Developer is a specialist technical role responsible for designing, building, testing, and providing support for a number of business application systems. The postholder will be responsible for using good industry practices and specialist tools to enhance and extend RPA systems within VUNHST.  In addition to managing a variety of complex projects and understanding the processes involved to enable RPA operation, the individual in this role will provide advice and assistance to team members and end users in their everyday use of enhanced application systems. This involves implementing new features, technologies, and development practices while conforming to industry best practices and examining any possible alterations to the system.

The primary focus of this role is to construct end-to-end solutions for robotic automation processes that satisfy a range of stated business requirements.
