Job overview
NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership is looking for a talented designer and content creator to join as a Graphic Designer. Working within the communications team, you will be advising on, designing and delivering bilingual content and documents across the organisation to the highest standards. A skilled designer with a NVQ Level 4 in graphic design or equivalent, you will be creating bilingual content and materials to support and promote NHS Wales Shared Service Partnership’s work. Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Office and emerging design platforms, you will use your skills and knowledge of design trends to create high quality content and designs from reports to social graphics to animations. A planner with a good attention to detail, you will be confident at managing conflicting priorities and delivering your work to deadlines.
Main duties of the job
The Graphic Designer will work with colleagues across NWSSP to create high quality designs and content to support the organisation's objectives. Skilled at working with Adobe and Microsoft Office products with a NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in design, you will deliver high quality bilingual designs which meet NWSSP branding guidelines, Welsh Language Standards and accessibility requirements. Managing and interpreting design briefs, you will provide advice, guidance and design solutions to colleagues and use your knowledge of design trends and products to create compelling designs in a variety of formats. You will support the communications team to manage its physical resources, including printed materials and hardware such as filming equipment, and identify when further materials are needed. You will use your ability to interpret complex data and content and transfer it to a visual design managing competing priorities. Develop branded assets and templates to support colleagues to create their own resources within our brand guidelines and offer advice as needed. Liaise with teams and external printers and suppliers when required, making sure all bilingual content supplied meets industry requirements for print. Advise staff on effective methods of design, production and finishing of graphic design work and provide resources and support on NWSSP brand guidelines. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
