Job overview
The planning, implementation and control of a Contracting service, providing a range of products / services to the NHS in Wales and other Public Sector bodies; ensuring that the service provides optimum solutions to customer needs, so releasing resources for patient care.
Contributing to the strategic development and direction of the organisation as part of the Senior Management Team.
The above to be undertaken against the backdrop of continuous improvement as a part of the organisation’s quality framework.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
- Ensuring that the aims and objectives set out in the organisation’s Business Plan are achieved.
- Maintaining and developing contractual, product and market expertise to support Contracting activity, including incorporation of Public and Private Sector Good Practice.
- Assuming management responsibility for the Contract / Projects programme and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the Contracting service, identifying improvements needed to meet current and future challenges.
- Providing advice, support and leadership to staff, including supervision, training and continuous personal / professional development through the IPR process: ensuring teams and individuals aspire to the organisation’s core values and achieve its vision.Providing effective leadership and contributing to the development of policies, strategies, objectives and goals; submitting proposals for programmes, projects and plans to enact these strategies / policies and achieve these goals and objectives.

- Post graduate degree (MA/MSc/MBA) or demonstrable equivalent experience in a relevant area.
