We have a vacancy available for a Community Staff Nurse in the Amman/Gwendraeth Community Nursing Team within Hywel Dda University Health Board.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated and suitably experienced registered nurse interested in working in the exciting and challenging area of Community Nursing.
Main duties of the job
Experience in Community Nursing is desirable for this post but not essential as training will be provided and the post holder will be supported to develop in the role.
This opportunity is suitable for someone who would like to develop their skills and knowledge whilst supported by a friendly and welcoming team.

The ability to travel between patients in a timely manner is essential.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 12,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services to almost 400,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:
Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest.
Five community hospitals: Amman Valley Hospital and Llandovery Hospital in Carmarthenshire, Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire.
Two integrated care centres (Aberaeron and Cardigan, Ceredigion).

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Level 1 Registered Nurse (Adult)
- Current NMC registration
- Evidence of personal continuing development, statutory and mandatory training
- Awareness of Health Board policies, procedures and guidelines
- Ability to relate theory to practice
- Understanding of primary health care working
Desirable criteria
- Post-registration experience in acute services
- Teaching and assessing
- Understanding of clinical governance, health & safety, risk management awareness
- Community experience
- Willing to undertake further training as necessary
- Evidence of post- registration education – Diploma / Degree Level
Experience

- Ability to demonstrate sound knowledge of NMC Code (2018)
