Job overview

This is an opportunity for a qualified counsellor to join our team. You will be working in a supportive team environment where you can benefit from flexible working whilst supporting adults by providing specialist bereavement counselling from Glangwili General Hospital site.
The Bereavement Support Service is a specialist Counselling Service within Carmarthenshire. The successful applicant will be based in Carmarthen, however will need to be willing to travel to other sites within Carmarthenshire if required, such as our partner site at Ty Bryngwyn. We offer a blended model of engagement, including the use of virtual platforms as well as face to face.
The applicant will require experience working within a team and in providing bereavement counselling.
Main duties of the job
You will be working within the Bereavement Support Service providing counselling to service users within Carmarthenshire, however you will need to be willing to work across the county of Carmarthenshire within Hywel Dda University Health Board if required. You will be conducting assessments and providing counselling support with a mixed model approach face to face, telephone and online. You will be required to work autonomously as part of a team, alongside and in partnership with other Healthcare professionals and Services within clinical settings.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Registered with BACP
- Relevant Diploma in Counselling or equivalent
- Evidence of relevant Grief practice
Desirable criteria
- Related Counselling qualifications
- Working towards accreditation
Experience
Essential criteria
- Working in adult Grief/Bereavement Counselling
- Receiving Clinical Supervision
- In depth knowledge of bereavement care and experience of its delivery
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of broad spectrum of relevant Counselling experience
- Experience of pre-bereavement care and its delivery
Language Skills
Desirable criteria
- Welsh speaker (Level 1)
