An opportunity has arisen for an Undergraduate Co-ordinator to join the Medical Education Centre at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen to manage the operational and organisational placements of Medical and Physician Associate students.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated who can respond to and plan for change and development. The successful candidate must have experience of working in a busy office environment; have excellent organisation and communication skills. You will have the ability to be flexible to the needs of the service and work on your own initiative as well as in a team environment.
Main duties of the job
Duties to include:-
Being the first point of contact in dealing with all matters relating to students from both Cardiff and Swansea Medical Schools.
Organising the various student timetables and inductions, ensuring all Medical School Curriculums are provided to ensure a successful placement.
Providing administrative service to the Honorary Senior Lecturer.
Providing pastoral support for all Medical and Physician Associate students on placements at Glangwili Hospital.
Providing day-to-day administrative support in the running of the Medical Education Centre and to the Medical Education Manager.
Working for our organisation
Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.
We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.

- Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest

- Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
- 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
- Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
