Job overview
Main duties of the job
Provide high‑quality nursing care for patients with inflammatory skin conditions including psoriasis, eczema, acne, hidradenitis suppurativa, urticaria and autoimmune disorders. Carry out structured dermatology assessments, including skin examination and ongoing symptom monitoring. Support the delivery of phototherapy by providing patient education, undertaking safety checks and monitoring treatment responses.
Deliver clear, patient‑centred education on disease management, trigger avoidance, treatment options and skincare. Offer ongoing support for long‑term conditions, including flare management and lifestyle guidance to promote self‑management.
Work collaboratively within a small multidisciplinary team of CNSs, dermatologists, pharmacists and administrative staff, contributing to the development and improvement of inflammatory dermatology pathways.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with NMC and NHS standards. Engage in dermatology‑specific training and demonstrate commitment to developing specialist competencies.
Provide compassionate support for the emotional and psychological impact of chronic skin disease, promoting a positive patient experience through respectful, person‑centred care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.
We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
