Job overview

Hywel Dda University Health Board are seeking a dynamic Consultant Radiologist who is experienced in general radiology with a special interest in Head and Neck radiology and possess a flexible approach to work.  The Health Board offers an excellent opportunity to join a progressive team of consultants and contribute to the on-going development of radiological services within the Hywel Dda University Health Board

Main duties of the job

This appointment is Health Board wide and the successful candidate would join radiology colleagues to provide general, head and neck based CT, MRI, ultrasound and fluoroscopy services to support the Health Board. The candidate will contribute to the wider workload of the department subject to job plan discussions, including general radiology, second on call rotas, teaching of radiology trainees, reporting Radiographers, undergraduate students, and other hospital staff. Flexible working arrangements will be considered and discussions as to your requirements and how they could be accommodated are welcomed.

A proportion of the out of hours (OOH) on-call is currently outsourced and completed remotely by an online Teleradiology provide.  However, the directorate is currently subject to transformation bringing a proportion of this service in-house.  The successful candidate will assist the Health Board in providing and promoting a flexible approach by contributing to this service completing cross-site reporting and emergency cover for our four main hospital sites where necessary.  Participation in the second-on-call rota will also be expected.  This provides a backup reporting service in the rare event of a failure of the link and communications with the overnight teleradiology company.
