Job overview

Hywel Dda is currently recruiting for a key role within our Trauma & Orthopaedics Team: Administrative & Information Officer.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support for the Complex Revision Arthroplasty Service and data input for Health Boards systems such as the National Joint Registry, the National Hip Fracture Database and the Bone and Joint Infection Registry which assist the clinical teams with measuring patient outcomes.
 
The Complex Revision Arthroplasty Service is in it's infancy and the postholder will be key to the development of this service the governance processes that wrap around it.  We are looking for an individual who is keen to work with clinicians to set up systems within this and would suit an organised individual with a keen eye for attention to detail.  
 
The postholder will provide data input and analytical support to the Trauma & Orthopaedic Management Team and will include the development and provision of relevant, accurate and timely information to support Management reporting, statutory returns and adhoc requests. 
 
The base of the position will be Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen, however there will be expectation to travel to Withybush General Hospital in Haverfordwest two days per week to support the data entry element of the role.
 
This is a full time post - 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent level of experience
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to extract relevant information

  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office ie ECDL
  • Knowledge of NHS processes, precisions and terminology
  • Knowledge of PAS

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience with data handling and large volume data input
  • Experience of working to deadlines
  • Previous experience working in a busy office
Desirable criteria
  • Previous exposure to NHS would be desirable
  • Previous experience of coordinating meetings and minute taking
