Job overview

This is a unique opportunity to join an already established Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist team in Hywel Dda. We are looking to expand the team to embrace new ways of working within a multidisciplinary haematology team also made up of Consultants, Pharmacists and Specialist doctors.

This is a time of great change within the Haematology service, being driven by a team of staff passionate about providing a safe robust and quality haematology service within a large coastal and rural landscape.

If you want to maintain a strong patient focus while influencing the future of the Haematology service in Hywel Dda, this may be the job for you, we look forward to you joining us!

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will subspecialise in one of the three haematology cancers; Myeloma, Leukaemia or Lymphoma, influencing our changing service to make a positive impact on direct patient care. Although you will be based at one site, you will work across traditional boundaries to provide a Health Board wide service, sometimes involving virtual ways of working.

You will act as Key Worker for a cohort of patients, involved in nurse led clinics and also have the opportunity to learn and develop advanced skills such as bone marrow aspirations and peripheral central catheter placement depending on patient need within your sub specialism.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
