Experienced Dietitian - Weight Management

Band 6

Our Hywel Dda values reflect who we are and how we behave. We continuously work together to be the best we can be as we strive to develop and deliver excellent services, putting people at the heart of everything we do. Throughout our recruitment process you will be asked to think about how you would demonstrate these values in the way that you work with us.

The Health Board has a clear duty of care to protect its employees’ health and safety at work and this includes understanding if they are at extra risk due to the Covid-19 virus. Conditional offers of employment for all vacancies are subject to a COVID19 risk assessment for your own health, safety and wellbeing. The risk assessment will take place during your pre-employment Occupational Health checks.  You are encouraged to consider whether you are a higher risk of developing more serious symptoms if you come in contact with the Covid-19 virus prior to submitting your application.

Hywel Dda University Health Board reserve the right to close vacancies after 24 hours if a large number of suitable applications are received. We encourage early applications to ensure consideration for a post.

We are looking for an experienced, dedicated Dietitian to join our respected Hywel Dda Dietetic Team, working within our established Weight Management Service.  The Weight Management Service is an integral part of the Health Board's implementation of the Healthy Weight Healthy Wales Strategy (2019).

The post holder will deliver evidence based behavioural weight management interventions including individual and group based interventions and will be a core member of our Weight Management Team which consists of Specialist Dietitians, Psychologists, Doctors, Assistant Psychologists and Dietetic Assistant Practitioners.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering interventions in line with the delivery of the All Wales Obesity Pathways (2020).   Alongside this, working as part of a Health Board wide team, post-holders will, through delivery of education and training of other health and social care professionals empower them to identify and support individuals at lower levels of complexity.

You will demonstrate considerable and broad adult dietetic experience, have excellent communication skills and be ready to work pro-actively as part of enthusiastic, hard working teams. You will have experience of a behavioural approach to motivating change.

As part of the Weight Management and Dietetic team you will be actively involved in service improvement, working with colleagues from across Hywel Dda to deliver high quality, evidence based, outcome driven care.

You will join a forward thinking, supportive and friendly dietetic team with good secretarial support and IT facilities. We are an established student training centre.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply
