We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about improving care and share our health board values to join our small caring team of pharmacists. Prince Philip hospital is conveniently located along the M4 corridor and covers a wide range of medical specialities and elective surgery.
You will be joining a team of experienced pharmacists and technicians and will be supported within a nurturing working environment to develop your career and undertake the prescribing qualification. You will be part of the exciting role out of EPMA supporting colleagues across the MDT as we embed digital systems within our practice.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will undertake a rotational clinical pharmacist role working closely with pharmacy colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Our small and friendly team will support you to develop your practice in a wide range of clinical areas. The majority of our pharmacist who completed foundation training progress within the department and health board and continue to prescribe and develop their role in their chosen speciality.
You will be expected to undertake the role of responsible pharmacist and will be expected to undertake Emergency Duty Commitment (on-call), work weekends and Bank holidays as part of a rota.
Full-Time although Part-Time hours will be considered
Working for our organisation
Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.
We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.
Our services are provided in:
• Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest
• Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire
• Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
• 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
• Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Masters degree in pharmacy (4 years or equivalent)
- Member of General Pharmaceutical Council (registered pharmacist or pre-registration pharmacy trainee during applications, must be registered pharmacist at time of start date)
- English language qualification - GCSE grade C or above or IELTS score of 6.5 in writing and 6.0 in all other components.
- Professional knowledge of medicines managements systems and process in an integrated NHS.
Experience

- Knowledge and experience of healthcare in a pharmacy

- Demonstrate achievement in more than one area of medicines management
