The Colorectal Secretaries are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic PA to work for a Consultant/Clinical Team. You will be required to meet local and national targets in relation to the turnaround of clinical correspondence, and support the validation of 18 week RTT pathways.
You will provide a fully comprehensive and confidential PA secretarial service to the Consultant and their clinical team. It is essential that you are able to demonstrate initiative suitable to the role and be fully supportive to other colleagues. You should be well-organised, flexible and have the ability to liaise with staff at all levels.
Previous medical secretarial experience is essential and an ECDL qualification / experience of the hospital patient management system desirable. Accuracy and attention to detail are also imperative.
You will also possess effective communication skills and be flexible in your approach with a willingness to work as part of a team, but also be able to use your own initiative. The hours of work are 30 hours per week across 5 days.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a comprehensive, quality, confidential secretarial service to Consultant staff and their medical teams, or to clinical professional teams as appropriate.
A key requirement of the job is to organise workload with the Consultants/clinical teams and co-ordinate their activities to ensure that an efficient service is provided.
Working for our organisation
Mid Cheshire is unique as it is an organisation where you cannot only wrap your arms around it and truly feel part of a “work family”, but there is also plenty of scale to have a broad and rewarding job and career.
There is a lot going on at the moment and lots of reasons to be excited about the future as we develop our 5-year strategy. Our focus right now is on the restoration and rebuild of our clinical services following Covid, including embedding and sustaining some of the innovation that we have seen over the last year. Working with our many partners, we seek to redesign some of our services as we take forward our aspiration for the redevelopment of Leighton Hospital so that our workforce and the people of Cheshire have a hospital that provides outstanding healthcare facilities which they can be proud of.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to monitor and assess workload amongst the team, including being able to identify and step-in to fill gaps, to ensure continuity of services.
